What Is Film Latitude?

Dynamic Range of a Digital Camera

The Dynamic Range is the range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. The range is also known as Tonal Range. A picture with bright areas and dark areas has a wide dynamic range.

Dynamic range is the difference between solid black and absolute white. The range of brightness, including shadow detail, that a film or digital sensor can record in a single image before the highlights wash out or the shadows become muddy is called the dynamic range. It is a good idea to test a film to learn its latitude, especially if you plan to use it for most of your shooting.

Digital photographers often find that their highlights are overexposed, a problem where there is an object in a brighter light than the scene as a whole. The brighter object will have little or no detail. If you have a camera that has spot metering, you can take an exposure reading from an object that is brighter than the rest of the scene.

Effect of Exposure Errors on Image Contrasting

Good image contrast can be produced by exposure errors and a wide range of exposures. The loss of contrast with exposure error is not a limiting factor.

Exposure Latitude and Dynamic Range

A medium can capture light intensities simultaneously, so it's not a matter of dynamic range. A recording medium with a greater dynamic range will be able to record more details in the dark and light areas of a picture. Dynamic range is a factor that affects latitude.

The Science of Geodesy

The latitude is determined by the altitude method. The measurement of latitude requires an understanding of the Earth's gravity, either by setting up theodolites or by determining the gps satellite's position. The study of the Earth's figure and its field is called the science of geodesy.

The speaker solution for a rigid touch display

The display hinges are too stiff to allow the lid to be opened one-handed. The extra rigidity of the touch display keeps it from wobbling. The speaker solution is inside the case.

The Base of the Dell Laptop

The hinges on the laptop's base are a little stiff, so you might want to use your other hand to open the lid, as the base of the laptop is lifted by the hinges. The top and bottom of the Dell computer have a logo and optional IR face recognition, which is a departure from the baseless design used by Dell. The laptop is available with the dual-core Core i3-8145U and quad-core Core i5-8265U.
